Ensure value for money. We had a great barbecue with a stunning view. During loadshedding there were lights inside that were burning. There was coffee, biscuits and milk/water available in the fridge. Quiet area. WiFi available. My husband and I had a wonderful stay.

This is a “Whoo-hoo-hoo, what a wonderful place” review. Eirene’s Place has everything you need – a beautifully decorated apartment, a comfortable bed with bespoke linen, a luxurious bathroom, a very enticing book collection, and everything you need to prepare yourself a meal. Add to this a spectacular sea view, and you are in heaven. You know what? This is where our “Whoo-hoo-hoo” experience started. We were invited to attend a wedding at Murasie in Baardskeerdersbos and had booked (some three months ago) for a Friday and Saturday evening. Life happens, so our circumstances changed between booking our accommodation and the actual date. That Friday, we helped our son move into a flat because he was starting a new job. At the end of the Friday, we realised that we were complete ‘poegaai’, so driving to De Kelders would have just been a schlep rather than a joy. So, we called Don and Carol to tell them not to wait for us. Upon arrival on Saturday late morning, Don and Carol invited us for a light breakfast before we leave on Sunday … on the house! And there we were … sitting like millionaires on a deck where you can see forever (just like in the picture), waves crashing on the rocks, and dolphins frolicking in the waves. The breakfast? A ‘light’ breakfast? Bah! Thanks, Don and Carol for an unforgettable experience.
This is not the view from the unit, it is in fact the owner's private balcony. Our view was an overgrown bush and jojo tanks. Under their private balcony.

It would be welcome if there is possibly a TV with DStv, possibly a TV in the apartment if you want to catch up with sports if the weather is not favorable for being outside.
Staying at Eirene Place is food for the soul. The unit is very well equipped and is very tidy. Don and Carol are so hospitable and breakfast was one of the best ever. Highly recommend.

We had a friendly reception and the cottage is very luxurious and clean. The cottage was a bit cold, with no heating. We were spoiled with a delicious breakfast. Beautiful place for an evening or two!
TV is a problem need to get a new TV, place's sea view is poor, parking is unsafe. no security.
The apartment is spacious and luxurious. The view is beautiful, The Breakfast on the upper deck is like living in paradise and we have never felt so pampered in our lives. What a wonderful experience for our 33rd Anniversary. I would recommend choosing Eirene Place before any other when going to Gansbaai for a break. Thank you, Carol and Don!

Don and Carol were very warm, kind and friendly hosts. Their accommodation was very comfortable, tidy and located within easy reach of all the major attractions in Gansbaai. I felt very welcomed and at home at Eirene Place, and this made the holiday a great deal more relaxing.
The very best place to stay! The nicest hosts, so very friendly, made us feel at home! Perfect location, so much space, and everything sparkling clean. And breakfast was excellent.
The accommodation is a very striking and nicely equipped unit on the ground floor that contains all the equipment that makes self-catering very comfortable. The beautiful antiques were chosen with taste and were used to create a special, homely atmosphere. The beautiful arrangement of native flowers, home-baked biscuits and welcome note make you feel very welcome and special. Carol's breakfast is of high quality and is served with love. The veranda of the unit gives a nice view of part of the bay. We would like to visit the place again and recommend everyone who likes a homely atmosphere to stay there!
Carol and Don were the perfect hosts, not intrusive, yet very warm and hospitable. The guest room was beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and care taken to provide a warm and personal touch. The breakfast was delicious, and especially the home made bread and scones provided yet another well appreciated personal touch. Each piece of crockery and cutlery had its own story too! What a wonderful stay!
I really enjoyed my overnight stay with Don and Carol and think that they are great hosts. Everything that you'll need has been thought of and the apartment is tastefully decorated, comfortable and airy. I loved the bird life and the quiet, and really enjoyed breakfast on the deck surrounded by the bird life and glorious view.
